Controversial Church Video Puts Priest's Position at Risk

Monsignor Jamie J. Gigantiello has been removed from his position at Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish in Brooklyn after granting permission for singer Sabrina Carpenter to shoot a music video, titled "Feather," at the church. The video, which features provocative scenes filmed inside the church, sparked outrage among congregants and clergy. The Diocese of Brooklyn stated that Gigantiello disregarded church policy regarding filming on church property. The diocese held a Mass of Reparation to restore the sanctity of the church, and Gigantiello apologized for the incident.
