Hiker Rescues in Glacier National Park

A 19-year-old hiker, Matthew Read, was rescued from chest-deep snow in Montana's Glacier National Park after being missing for three days. He was found by rescue personnel and extracted by a 175-foot hoist. Read is in stable condition. He had hiked the Huckleberry Lookout trail on Friday and slipped into an unnamed drainage on the east side of Huckleberry Mountain, where he descended into chest-deep snow, losing his phone, water bottle, and shoes.
