New survey reveals shocking impact of gun violence on American families.

A new survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation reveals that gun violence has affected most families in the US, with nearly 1 in 5 adults having had a family member killed by a gun. The survey also found that about half of all gun-related deaths are suicides, and guns are now the leading cause of death among children and teens in the US. Disparities in gun violence are also evident, with the homicide rate among young Black men nearly 10 times higher than the overall firearm death rate in the US. Prevention measures are lacking, with only 5% of adults saying that a health care professional has talked to them about gun safety.
