Honoring UVA Football Players at Graduation Ceremony.

The families of three UVA football players killed in a shooting last November were awarded posthumous degrees during graduation ceremonies on Saturday. One of the players, D'Sean Perry, was scheduled to graduate and his mother attended the ceremony in his place. The university and football program also remembered the players during the event. The keynote speaker, Virginia athletic director Carla Williams, praised the empathy shown by the university community in the wake of the tragedy. One of the wounded players, Mike Hollins, also graduated during the ceremony. A former UVA student and football team member has been charged with the shooting.
