Reddit moderators and Yelp have warned the Supreme Court about the real-world dangers of Republican-backed social media laws that restrict platforms' ability to moderate content. In "friend-of-the-court" briefs opposing the laws, tech groups and Reddit moderators provided examples of comments that they claim they would no longer be able to censor, including threats against justices and celebrations of the death of Justice Ginsburg. Yelp also argued that upholding the laws would prevent the company from stopping "review bombing" and political attacks on businesses. Over 50 briefs, including one from the Biden administration, have been filed opposing the laws.
