E-bike battery blamed for deadly Queens fire that killed child and teen.

A 7-year-old boy and a teenager were killed in a fire caused by an e-bike's lithium-ion battery in New York City, marking the city's fifth fatality in connection with the batteries so far this year. The blaze started in the vestibule of a residential building in Queens and quickly traveled upstairs, where a father and his children were staying. Four people were able to jump out of windows, but two did not survive. The incident comes amid a rise in the number of fires caused by lithium batteries across the United States.
