Tragic Heroism: Mother drowns saving son, father rescues trapped child

A mother from Massachusetts drowned while trying to save her young son who was caught in a fast current at Franconia Falls in New Hampshire. Another son who jumped in to help became trapped in boulders but was rescued by his father. The mother's body was found on a rock and despite immediate CPR, she could not be revived. Two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. Franconia Falls is a popular hiking and swimming spot in the White Mountain National Forest.
