Officials to Visit Site of Philadelphia I-95 Collapse Due to Vehicle Fire

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has promised to help repair the collapsed section of I-95 in Philadelphia as quickly as possible, which is expected to raise shipping costs as truckers must now travel longer, pricier routes. The damaged I-95 segment carries about 160,000 vehicles daily, believed to be the busiest roadway in Pennsylvania, and officials say rebuilding the highway could take months. Buttigieg met with city and state officials to discuss how the U.S. Department of Transportation can help rebuild the roughly 100-foot-long section of I-95.
