A group of Italians bought an abandoned hamlet in San Severino di Centola, Italy, to preserve its original beauty and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. The group acquired around 60 old stone dwellings 15 years ago and each has a property stake. They have no grand plans to turn the hamlet into a lavish resort or holiday retreat spot, but simply want to help preserve the village's original beauty by breathing new life into its decaying houses and monuments. The group hopes to give the village a small-scale sustainable makeover that will bring out its uniqueness.
