Wells, an 18-year-old Mississippi college football player, disappeared after a July 4 boat outing and was found off Horn Island on July 6, reportedly wearing only swim trunks; a disaster-relief pilot located the body from the air. The group’s founder had previously suggested Wells was fully clothed before clarifying, and Crump did not respond to requests for comment.
