Ohio mom of 16 faces multiple charges after children found living in squalor

Elizabeth Siders, 34, the mother of 16 children in South Bloomingville, Ohio, pleaded not guilty to 19 counts of child endangerment related to horrific conditions found in June, and also to separate charges of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in a separate case; her husband and in-laws were arrested, and the 16 children (ages 1½ to 18) are in state custody. A grand jury indicted the family on the child-endangerment counts, while the sexual-abuse indictments against Siders Jr. and Elizabeth Siders remain pending. Competency evaluations have been ordered for some family members, with results pending as investigations continue.
