Three Americans Charged in ISIS Support Plot Involving Drone Attacks

Three U.S. citizens—Bisaam Ghafoor, 21, of Leawood, Kansas; Elias Shamsaldeen, 21, and Bereen Dzayee, 25, both of California—were arrested on charges of conspiring to provide material support to ISIS after allegedly giving more than $2,000 to a person they believed was ISIS to purchase drones to attack U.S. service members overseas; prosecutors say Ghafoor expressed a desire to kill Americans and wrote about beheading a female soldier, and all three discussed traveling to fight for ISIS and pledged allegiance via Discord and other platforms. The case is in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and was investigated by the FBI JTTF in Kansas City, San Diego, and Sacramento.
