Heat wave grips Minnesota, relief in sight

After experiencing the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching 96 degrees and heat index values hitting 107 degrees in parts of the Twin Cities, cooler temperatures are expected as a cold front moves in. Highs will fall into the 80s and 70s, with the average high and low for the weekend being 83 and 65 degrees respectively. The forecast indicates that highs in the 80s will be common next week.
