Massive Storm Causes Widespread Tree Damage in Wellesley and Beyond

Heavy rain and high winds, combined with saturated grounds from previous rainfall, caused trees to topple over across New England during Monday's storm. Boston recorded 1.67 inches of rain and wind gusts up to 68 mph. Downed trees damaged homes, vehicles, and caused power outages, with the highest concentration in Eastern Massachusetts. The excessive tree damage was attributed to the combination of last week's rainfall and Monday's storm. Tens of thousands of residents were without power, and crews worked to restore power and clear blocked roads. The majority of outages were caused by fallen trees and tree limbs.
