Minnesota Braces for Poor Air Quality Amid Hot and Dry Weather

Air quality alerts are in effect for most of Minnesota due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. Southern Minnesota is also experiencing surface level ozone due to hot and sunny weather. Temperatures will be near 90 degrees in the south and 70s-80s in the north. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible late Friday and Saturday, but the system is now looking less impressive than previously thought. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness may see little or no rainfall, and temperatures will heat up again next week.
