San Francisco Windstorm Causes Chaos and Flying Furniture

Strong winds in San Francisco caused trees to fall, a big rig to overturn, and outdoor furniture to fly through the air and crash onto the sidewalk. The storm also triggered a rare tornado warning on the Southern California coast. The wind and rain were caused by an extraordinary drop in barometric pressure over the eastern Pacific that meteorologists described as “explosive cyclogenisis.”
