Smoke and Fires Cause Air Quality Alerts Across North America

The D.C. area will experience mild and dry weather with low humidity and temperatures near 80 degrees, but the area will also continue to experience serious smoke issues and poor air quality due to wildfire smoke from the north. A Code Orange air quality alert is in effect for Wednesday, and a Code Red alert is possible for Thursday. The weekend will bring partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low to mid-80s, but there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms by Sunday or Monday.
