Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Northeast Ohio and Chicago

A Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory have been issued for several counties in Northeast Ohio, including Geauga, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Lake, Medina, Portage, Summit, and Trumbull. The forecast predicts rain turning into snow in the afternoon, with slushy accumulations during the evening commute. Snowfall of 1-3 inches is expected by mid-evening, followed by lake-effect snow overnight with additional accumulations of 2-4 inches in the snowbelt. The snow will end by mid-morning on Tuesday, with gusty winds reaching 30+ mph. A brief period of lake-effect snow is expected Monday night into early Tuesday, with temperatures rising back into the 40s later in the week.
