Second Wolverine Sighting in California in 100 Years Confirmed

A wolverine was spotted three times last month in the eastern Sierra Nevada, marking only the second time the animal has been seen in California over the last 100 years. The wolverine, likely a young male seeking a mate, has been spotted twice in the Inyo National Forest and once in Yosemite National Park. Wildlife officials are trying to obtain a specimen of the wolverine's hair or scat for genetic testing, as the species is listed as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act.
