"Migrant Justice Marches Through Mexico"

Thousands of migrants, mainly from Central America, Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Colombia, are marching through southern Mexico to demand the end of detention centers and better treatment for migrants. They are hoping to reach Mexico City in about 10 days. The protest comes after 40 people were killed in a detention center fire in Ciudad Juárez last month. The migrants face several threats along the way, particularly from dangerous organized crime gangs and corrupt local law officials. Mexico is struggling to deal with an influx of migrants who are fleeing instability, violence, and poverty in their own countries.
