USS Lincoln Heads To Thailand as Carrier Fleet Maintains Middle East Focus

The USS Abraham Lincoln, escorted by USS Robert Smalls and USS Frank E. Petersen Jr., transited toward a liberty port in Thailand (Laem Chabang) after a long Pacific deployment, while other carrier groups continue to enforce a blockade and conduct strikes in the Middle East against Iran. The George Washington and the George H.W. Bush CSGs are also operating in the region, reflecting an overall carrier posture that currently includes three deployed carriers, several in maintenance or training, and a long-running DPIA for the Ronald Reagan. Lincoln has been at sea for about 285 days and is expected to return in late September or early October, with possible additional stops along the way.
