Merlier edges rivals to win sprint as Tour stage 12 ends in chaos
TL;DR
Tim Merlier (Soudal-QuickStep) won the stage 12 sprint in Chalon-sur-Saône, beating Olav Kooij and Jasper Philipsen after a late sprint and a crash disrupted the peloton; the Belgian’s win keeps him among the sprint contenders, Mads Pedersen still leads the green jersey standings, and there were no changes to the overall GC.
