Van Aert regrets missed confidence on Vuelta climb as green jersey bid persists

Wout van Aert attacked with a five-man break on stage 7 of the Vuelta a España, took 20 intermediate points and climbed strongly, but later said he underestimated himself on the final ascent. Andreas Leknessund won the stage, with Tobias Haaland Johannessen chasing in the finish. Van Aert remains two points clear of Tadej Pogačar in the green jersey standings (Pogačar wears red overall), while Visma’s Brennan remains a sprint threat.
