Antonelli edges Russell in Monaco pole as title bid stalls

Andrea Kimi Antonelli took pole for the Monaco Grand Prix with a 1:12.051, beating Verstappen by 0.043s while George Russell finished sixth, about three tenths off the pace, widening Russell’s championship gap to 43 points. Russell is puzzled by a pace deficit this season and says his driving style and tyre window balance aren’t as favorable as Antonelli’s, who has won four straight races and excels around Monaco’s tight streets.
