Dodgers ride Sasaki’s 100+ mph outing and Muncy’s late homer to topple Yankees
TL;DR
Roki Sasaki flashed ace-level stuff with 100+ mph fastballs in 5.2 innings, but two Dodgers errors allowed an unearned run for the Yankees. The Dodgers grabbed the lead in the seventh when Max Muncy crushed a homer off Gerrit Cole after Mookie Betts’ walk, and a sharp Dodgers defense/bullpen preserved a 2–1 win to start the second half, keeping L.A. atop the standings at 62–36.
