Formidable Speaker Sparks a Mana-Driven Meta at Pro Tour Lorwyn Eclipsed

Pro Tour Lorwyn Eclipsed kicks off in Richmond with 306 invited players competing for $500,000 as Standard decks break down around mana-acceleration archetypes led by Simic Rhythm and Bant Rhythm. Badgermole Cub and Llanowar Elves are the most-played nonland cards, each appearing in 548 copies, while Formidable Speaker is the standout new card, featured in 146 decks and enabling a versatile toolbox across multiple archetypes. New Lorwyn Eclipsed additions like Wistfulness, Deceit, Vibrance, and Sunderflock are shaping Elemental, control, and Reanimator builds. About 34.6% of the field (106 players) built around the Cub core, underscoring its dominance, with many decks tweaking toward five-color or white-splash variants. The event runs with a booster draft Friday–Saturday, five rounds of Standard, then a Sunday Top 8, and streams are available on the Magic Twitch channel and Play MTG YouTube channel.
