Patriots Cornerback Christian Gonzalez Misses Colts Practice; Injury Not Contract Issue

Christian Gonzalez was not seen at Tuesday’s Patriots–Colts joint practice due to a minor injury, not contract talks, per Greg Bedard. He had been a full participant this summer after a shakier spring, and Monday’s practice saw him contest a throw but stay on the field. ESPN’s Ian Rapoport said contract talks could extend into next season, while Gonzalez later appeared on NFL Network’s Top 100 list. The team is set to practice again Saturday, and there’s a chance he wouldn’t play in Thursday’s preseason opener anyway.
