Werenski blocks Stars deal, leaving Blue Jackets in limbo
TL;DR
Zach Werenski reportedly vetoed a verbal agreement that would have sent him from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Dallas Stars, blocking the deal despite a verbal agreement; his no-move clause, contract through 2027-28, and preference to stay in the Eastern Conference complicate a potential trade and leave Columbus navigating an uncertain future for its top defenseman.
