Blackhawks Make Major Moves, Acquire Bailey and Perry from Islanders

The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired forward Josh Bailey and a second-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from the New York Islanders in exchange for future considerations. The Islanders were looking to shed Bailey's $5 million cap hit, and shortly after the trade, the Blackhawks placed Bailey on unconditional waivers for a buyout. The Blackhawks will eat the buyout penalty, while Bailey will have the opportunity to find a new role elsewhere.
