TL;DR

The Washington Capitals defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-0 on the road, led by Logan Thompson’s third shutout of the season. Dylan Strome opened the scoring, Ryan Leonard doubled the lead, Martin Fehervary added a third (with Justin Sourdif involved), and Cole Hutson closed it with an empty-netter. Anthony Stolarz left early due to injury, while Ilya Protas made his NHL debut as part of a strong Capitals lineup; questions linger about Alex Ovechkin’s future and whether Washington can sustain playoff contention.
