Vasilevskiy Wins Vezina as Thompson Is Widely Snubbed by GMs
Andrei Vasilevskiy won the Vezina Trophy with 114 points and 17 first‑place votes, while Logan Thompson, despite leading in goals saved above expected and posting strong numbers over 58 games for Washington (31-21-6, 2.44 GAA, .912 SV%), was left off the ballots by more than half of GMs and finished fourth. Ilya Sorokin and Jeremy Swayman finished second and third, respectively. An offbeat note from the ceremony: a Tampa police K‑9 unit reportedly detected a suspicious package in Vasilevskiy’s car containing the trophy.
