Steelers Begin 53-Man Cutdown With Jones Trade, Early Roster Moves

The Pittsburgh Steelers began their 53-man roster cutdown ahead of the season opener vs. Atlanta, releasing 11 players in the first wave and trading OT Broderick Jones to the Cowboys for 2027 picks; Aug. 30 moves added DL Dean Lowry and ILB Elandon Roberts as part of ongoing reshuffling, with a larger list of depth players (Bell, Crippen, Guilbeau, Hill, Lynum, Porter, Powell, Winstead, Tecza, Davis, Wentz) noted as candidates for the practice squad or further cuts, leaving the team at 75 players with 22 cuts/moves remaining.
