Tigers' Kerry Carpenter seals win with walk-off homer against Guardians.
TL;DR
Kerry Carpenter hit a walk-off homer to give the Detroit Tigers a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians in the first game of a doubleheader. Matt Boyd had a classic start, cruising through the first three innings before falling apart in the fourth. The Tigers' offense was led by Carpenter and Nick Maton, but it was Carpenter who came through in the clutch with his third walk-off hit in as many games. The win was the Tigers' fourth straight.
