TL;DR

OpenAI's ChatGPT model has added internet connectivity to its features, allowing users to browse the web and access real-time information during chat sessions. This puts ChatGPT in competition with Google Bard and Microsoft Bing. While ChatGPT's responses were not as fast or detailed as its competitors in a side-by-side comparison, it excelled in tasks requiring creative results. The feature is currently in beta and only available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers.
