Ransomware Attacks Target LogicMonitor Customers Due to Default Passwords

LogicMonitor, a network monitoring company, has confirmed that a "small number" of its customers have fallen victim to cyberattacks. While the company did not explicitly mention ransomware attacks, anonymous sources revealed that threat actors hacked customer accounts and deployed ransomware using the platform's on-premise LogicMonitor Collector sensors. The attacks were reportedly carried out by deploying scripts from the cloud-based platform to the on-premise Collectors. LogicMonitor is working closely with affected customers to mitigate the impact of the attacks. The company is also investigating account access issues and is said to have assigned weak default passwords to new users, which may have contributed to the breaches.
