"StripedFly Malware Infects 1 Million Windows and Linux Hosts"

The StripedFly malware framework, a sophisticated cross-platform malware, has infected over a million Windows and Linux systems over the past five years. Discovered by Kaspersky, the malware features TOR-based traffic concealing mechanisms, automated updating, worm-like spreading capabilities, and a custom EternalBlue SMBv1 exploit. It is unclear if the malware was used for revenue generation or cyber espionage, but its sophistication indicates it is an advanced persistent threat (APT) malware. The malware operates as a monolithic binary executable with various modules, including a Monero mining module as a diversion tactic. Kaspersky estimates that over 1 million devices have been infected by StripedFly.
