Kona Unity: A 29+ Mullet Cargo Mule for Bikepacking

Kona has unveiled the Unity, a 29+ mullet cargo mule with a rigid fork and an oversized front triangle designed for heavy bikepacking. It features an integrated Kona Utility Rack and an extensive mounting system (20 frame eyelets, plus 11 on the fork and 12 on the rack) with three-pack fork mounts and UDH sliding rear dropouts for length adjustments or singlespeed. The stock build uses Shimano XT LinkGlide 11-speed, Tektro Gemini hydraulic brakes, and WTB Ranger tires, with 29x3.0 front and 27.5x3.0 rear (29x2.5 rear optional). Geometry centers around a 65.8° head angle with wheelbases roughly 1,176–1,279 mm. Price is $2,699 USD, color Gloss Future Dusk, and Kona positions it as the ultimate utilitarian bike for cargo‑heavy bikepacking, offering extensive bag/cargo compatibility and configurability.
