Metal Gear Solid's Colonel Campbell and Voice Actor Paul Eiding Speak Out Against Unauthorized Use of Their Voices

Paul Eiding, the voice of Metal Gear Solid's Colonel Campbell, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the unauthorized use of his voice, including by AI. Eiding stated that using his voice without written permission is a violation of his legal rights. This comes after fellow Metal Gear actor David Hayter also criticized AI technology, stating that AI voice acting will always lack the emotional nuances provided by human actors. In a related incident, voice actress Erica Lindbeck left Twitter following an online dispute over the use of her voice in an AI-generated video. Lindbeck called for the reporting of similar videos, leading to the suspension of the AI creator's Twitter account.
