Konami Seeks to ID Culprit Behind Mass MGS2 Source Code Leak
Konami has filed a California lawsuit to identify the person or people who leaked the Metal Gear Solid 2 source code and internal assets, naming 4chan and two file-hosting sites (pixeldrain.com and buzzheavier.com) as locations where the materials appeared. The complaint seeks court help to compel site owners to reveal information about the original posters; the defendants are listed as Does. The leak, dating from around 2007, included an unreleased MGS2 Substance Wii port and various game versions, trailers, and demos, suggesting the code may originate from the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and Konami aims to find the leak’s source.
