Ubisoft Shuts Down NFT Strategy Game as Web3 Push Falters

Ubisoft announced Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, a Web3-enabled turn-based strategy game, will sunset on October 30 after already removing NFT functionality; the publisher previously released a Steam-free-to-play version (Champions Tactics Reforged) and is directing players toward its collectible card game Might and Magic Fates, which includes a cash or crypto marketplace, though community response to blockchain projects remains skeptical and uptake has been limited.
