Warzone Drops PS4 and Xbox One Ahead of Modern Warfare 4

Call of Duty: Warzone will no longer be playable on PS4 and Xbox One later this year as the series shifts to Modern Warfare 4 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2. Beginning June 4, new downloads on those older platforms will stop, with COD Points bundle purchases disabled and the in-game store closing on June 25. After MW4 launches on October 23 and Season 1 begins, Warzone on PS4/Xbox One will be completely unplayable. Players who linked their accounts can transfer progress to newer platforms, while past Call of Duty titles remain playable on the older consoles. The move highlights ongoing hardware and pricing hurdles for players stuck on older generation systems.
