Digital Foundry has conducted a technical analysis of Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch, revealing significant graphical changes and compromises made to optimize the game for the system. These include scaled-back lighting, reduced texture and shadow quality, decreased foliage density, and lower NPC animation rates. The game runs at a target frame rate of 30 FPS but can drop to the mid-20s, with occasional stutters during data loading. The resolution ranges from 720p when docked to 576p in portable mode, occasionally dropping to 360p. Despite these compromises, the game looks similar in both docked and portable modes.
