Disney Almost Built a Smash Bros‑Style Crossover, Ex-Dev Reveals

Former Disney Interactive concept artist says Disney briefly explored a Smash Bros.–style crossover called Disney's Action Figure Face Off, inspired by Kingdom Hearts, but the prototype didn’t progress as Disney shifted toward safer film tie‑ins; the company later pursued other cross‑franchise ideas like Disney Infinity, Disney Speedstorm, and Dreamlight Valley, while Kingdom Hearts 4 is due late next year and a Disney Plus anime is in production.
