TL;DR

Square Enix confirms a Switch 2 version for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition, but there is no upgrade/purchase path from the Switch version to the Switch 2 version; save data cannot transfer between versions, and buyers must carefully choose which edition to buy. The Switch 2 version includes new optimization modes for graphics or performance and will be released as a physical Game-Key Card.
