Eight-player local split-screen arrives for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch 2

Nintendo released a surprise Switch 2 patch for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, enabling up to eight players to race locally on one console (with Switch 2 and at least one Joy-Con 2 or Switch 2 Pro Controller), along with improved image quality and faster loading. The update also adds GameShare and CameraPlay support and introduces a new “96 Races” option for Booster Course Pass custom VS matches, plus minor balance tweaks. Separate recent updates include Pikmin 3 Deluxe getting a similar Switch 2 boost, while Smash Bros Ultimate has not yet received a Switch 2 update.
