TL;DR

Embracer Group has confirmed the closure of UK-based game developer Free Radical Design, known for the TimeSplitters series, after a consultation process. Multiple developers have reported on LinkedIn that the remaining 80 staff members have been let go. The closure highlights the challenges faced by game developers in an industry where studios are treated as replaceable entities focused solely on share prices. Fans' hopes for a TimeSplitters revival have been dashed.
