Fresh Switch 2 Patch Turns Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Into an 8-Player Local Racer

Nintendo’s Switch 2 gets a free upgrade to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (version 4.0.0) that expands local multiplayer to eight players in split-screen, adds Switch 2 enhancements like crisper visuals and shorter load times, and introduces CameraPlay for online races. It also tweaks Boo’s animation and boosts race speed by roughly the equivalent of one coin. The patch arrives more than a year after Switch 2’s launch and doesn’t require any DLC, keeping Mario Kart 8 Deluxe relevant on the new hardware.
