TL;DR

Helldivers 2 has exceeded 8 million in sales, surpassing expectations for Sony and developer Arrowhead, with sales continuing to grow. The game has been a monumental success, becoming PlayStation's biggest Steam launch and boasting an all-time concurrent peak of over 458,000 players. Its high-chaos, high-comedy firefights make it a riot to play with friends, and the creative director emphasized the need for compassion and union in response to rivalry with other franchises.
