Square Enix has hinted that the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy may be released around 2028, following a similar development cycle as the second installment, Rebirth. The game's director mentioned progress on the script and potential developments for the concluding chapter. The sequel, Rebirth, is set to launch later this month, featuring an expanded overworld setting. Creative director Tetsuya Nomura indicated that some development has already begun on the third game, while producer Yoshinori Kitase hinted at where the story in Rebirth would conclude.
