Valve Punishes Thousands of Steam Users for Liking Negative Reviews
TL;DR
Valve restricted almost 2,500 Steam accounts, including one user who posted a negative review of Warlander and those who liked it, for 30 days for "attempting to scam users or other violations of Steam's Rules & Guidelines." Steam support later apologized and lifted the bans, admitting that the moderator made a mistake and that the review did not violate any rules. The incident may discourage users from leaving negative reviews and giving them thumbs up.
